Product Clinical Overview
Vildatrol-M is a fixed-dose oral antidiabetic combination of Vildagliptin, a selective dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP-4) inhibitor, and Metformin Hydrochloride, a biguanide insulin sensitiser. The two agents act through complementary mechanisms to improve fasting and post-prandial glycaemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Pharmacological Mechanism of Action
Vildagliptin inhibits DPP-4, increasing circulating active GLP-1 and GIP, which enhance glucose-dependent insulin secretion and suppress glucagon release. Metformin decreases hepatic gluconeogenesis, reduces intestinal glucose absorption and improves peripheral glucose uptake.
